A smaller alternative to Facebook or X
Potpuri is not trying to replace every social-network feature. It can be better when what you want is a calm place to exchange thoughts and reading with a small circle—not a public stage optimized for reach and engagement.
People, not followers
Board access is mutual. You connect by handle, both people agree, and your email stays private. There are no follower counts or suggested accounts.
Temporary by design
Board posts and comments disappear after 24 hours. The default view contains only the latest 50 posts, so there is no endless historical profile to perform for.
Slower posting
Daily post limits and server-timed drafts discourage floods of generated content. LLM help on newly written posts can be disclosed; shared RSS items are clearly presented as source material.
Keep only what matters
Your Bookmarks are private and permanent. Save a useful Board post without preserving its comment thread, or turn an RSS article into a personal note instead of feeding an algorithm.
Potpuri does not rank the Board, sell attention, insert ads, or reward virality. Your feed is simply recent material from accepted acquaintances. If you need global discovery, large communities, live chat, or public broadcasting, a traditional social network may still be the better tool.
